Welcome to Dance Mania - Where Passion Meets Precision

At Dance Mania, we're more than just a dance studio; we're a family united by our love for dance and our commitment to excellence. Established in 1999 in Melbourne, FL, as Dance Mania Allstars, our journey began with a dedication to fostering talent and building champions. Dance Mania All-Stars is a state-of-the-art dance program offering ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pom and hip hop dance styles. This dance program, has given students the opportunity to be part of a team with a proven track record of high standards, morals, and goals. They are proudly entering their 25th dance season!!

In 2023, we expanded our legacy with the introduction of Dance Mania Nashville, broadening our reach and enriching the lives of dancers across regions. Dance Mania Nashville is owned and operated by Kirstin Hawk who has run a competitive dance program located in Nashville TN, since 2007. We are so thrilled to be the newest member of the Dance Mania family.

Dance Mania Nashville has competitive teams for dancers novice to advanced. We also have recreational classes for those who wish to take a weekly class without the commitment of a team. Should you be interested in a team dancers will participate in an evaluation process. At the end of the evaluation process the coaches will place dancers on competitive teams or in classes that best match their attitude and abilities. These placements will be going on through the summer for 2023. Our competitive teams train and compete throughout the season in regional and national competitions. Their age group and team type they are participating on determines their competition schedule, practice times, and team commitment level.

Dance Mania All Stars in Florida holds over 500 championship titles including WORLD CHAMPIONS! All curriculum, staffing and mission statements will be the same across both locations.

Benefits of Dance

Dancing isn’t just about the steps and music. It’s a perfect combination of physical activity, social interaction, and mental stimulation. Dancing enhances your life in so many ways!

FUN - Dancing is a great way to add excitement to your life. Although learning to dance takes concentration and dedication, you will be constantly surrounded by artistic, cheerful people who make learning a pleasurable and worthwhile experience. So join us and have some fun here at Dance Mania Nashville!

HEALTH - When you dance, your cardiovascular system improves, your muscle tone increases and you burn calories. This low-impact aerobic activity also increases flexibility, strength, and balance. Olympic athletes often dance as part of their training to sharpen their control, agility, and speed. Dancing is great exercise, and Dance Mania Nashville offers a pleasant, fun atmosphere in which to learn the art of dance.

CONFIDENCE - Dancers maintain a quality of self-confidence and the ability to enjoy themselves more in social situations. When you learn how to dance, your entire mental viewpoint will take on a fresh sense of creativity, motivation, and energy. This new self-confidence in your dancing abilities will shift to other aspects of your life as well.

SELF-EXPRESSION - Dance provides an emotional outlet so that you can express your feelings through your body movements with passion and aptitude. Dancing will bring out, improve upon, and strengthen your ability to permanently use these powerful qualities even when you are not dancing.

SOCIAL - Dance lessons are an easy, low-pressure way to meet people. Dance Mania Nashville provides nightly dance practices, team bonding gatherings, and regional, national and international competitions, as well as fun trips to many different locations across the country. Our studio is the perfect way to make your best friends!

RELAXATION - In today’s fast-paced world, we sometimes forget to take a moment for ourselves. Dancing provides an enjoyable outlet from your normal routine, plus a chance to relieve stress and concentrate on yourself.

MOTOR SKILLS - Whether or not sports are of interest, developing both gross and fine motor skills is crucial for children of all ages. Due to the various styles used during each practice, dance can improve motor skills and muscle memory starting from a very young age as they train even the most basic dance skills.

TESTIMONIALS FROM PARENTS & STUDENTS

What our dance family is saying

"confidence"

Competitive dance is truly a home away from home and a second family for our children. In addition to the top notch dance training that my daughter receives from Dance Mania, she has also gained enormous confidence, independence and a sense of true camaraderie among her dance peers. Dance Mania Nashville is the complete package.

Brooke Faught

"supported"

My daughter Ella has danced with Kirstin Hawk for 9 years now. She has made the best memories of her life at dance! This studio has loved and supported her every step of the way! We love the family aspect of our studio and look forward to this next chapter as a part of Dance Mania Nashville! Dance Mania has already embraced us with so much knowledge, encouragement and support! The future is looking so bright!

Tina Babel

"dedication"

5 years ago we moved to Nashville and from the moment our daughter met Kirstin she knew she found her coach. Kirstin welcomed our daughter with open arms, pushed her to her fullest potential and created a dance family for these girls that feels like a second home. Kirstin’s love and commitment to these girls goes far beyond the stage. She has taught our daughter the meaning of dedication, perseverance, commitment and friendship. We are grateful for Kirstin’s mentorship with our daughter both on and off the competition stage!

Claudia Monja Guedes

I have been exposed to and performed for world renowned choreographers such as Fernando Alonso, Ramona de Saá Bello, Ana Julia Bermudez, José Zamorano and a methodology conference with Alicia Alonso. These experiences taught me the strength and weakness of Cuban methodology. I was brought to Africa to lead the way into the expression of the classic, neo-classic and Cuban technique while at the same time expanding on my own skills, experience and technique with the Vaganova Ballet School. The synergy of my training has given me a unique visual style which has appealed to audiences and critics the world over and has awarded me as a principal dancer.

MOST NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENT
I have successfully executed the principal roles in the following performances: Giselle (2012, 2019), Don Quijote (2015), La Traviata (2016), Big City Big dream (2017), Carmen, Nutcracker and a contemporary performance Fire and Ice by world renowned choreographer Redha Benteifour (2018/2019). During my time at Nashville Ballet, I have appeared on the cover of Point magazine (Feb 2022) and performed the principal roles in: Lucy Negro(2022 – broadcast on PBS; national tour to Kansas City and Denver), Firebird (2022), the Snow Queen and Sugar Plum in Nutcracker (2022/23), Anthology (2023), Cinderella (fairy Godmother and stepmother – 2022), Autumn in Four Seasons (2023) all choreographed by Artistic Director Paul Vasterling. Two Neoclassical pieces by Donald Byrd: 1. The Reframing Narrative at the Kennedy Centre From Others Suns world premiere, 2. In The Time I Leave It (2023). Snow Blind (Zena – 2023) by Cathy Marston. 4T Balanchine (Four Temperament 2023 – Choleric). Tutto Tranne Il Lavelloe Della Cucina by Val Caniparoli (2022). A Neoclassical piece by Justin Peck: The Lord couple in The Year of the Rabbit (2023 – national tour: Charleston), Included in my repertoire of soloist achievements are: Cinderella – Fairy Godmother and Stepmother, Snow White – Queen, Giselle – Queen of Willis, Sleeping Beauty – Lilac Fairy and Pas de trois, Le Bayadère – Gamzatti and Shadow pas de trois, Nutcracker – Fairy, Dying Swan, Coppelia – Friend and Dawn, Contemporary piece from the repertoire of Joburg Ballet. Further I had several performances in Corps de Ballet. Together with pas de duex: Flame of Paris, Spring Water, Grand pas Classique, Black Swan, Don Quijote, Walpurgisnacht, Firebird, Rose Adage and Esmeralda variation.

As part of social and cultural development and exposure workshops in townships and poorer
communities, I was a brand ambassador for the arts performing for the youth. I further helped raise funds for cancer through a charity drive in Knysna and Hermanus in South Africa.
I frequently travelled to countries such as China, Ecuador, Colombia, Ethiopia, Zambia and Italy to showcase each company’s collaborative mastery of techniques.

MY TEACHING PRINCIPLES
 I Identify and develop each students strengths and abilities.
 Awakening the beauty of movement and flow in the style of the dance.
